In order for Finch to access data from HiBob, customers must create a HiBob “Service User” and then grant specific permissions to that user. (A Service User is simply a specific type of user that is created solely for integration or API use, and is distinct from human HiBob users.)

Permissions

Permissions in HiBob are then managed and assigned to users via “Permission Groups”. Service Users and Permission groups are both found in the Settings menu of the HiBob application.

Step by step guide

  1. Creating a “Service User”
    1. Log into app.hibob.com/home
    2. Click Settings on the bottom left corner of the page
    3. Select Integrations from the Settings menu
    4. Click the Service Users card to view existing service users or to create a new service user
  2. Creating a “Permission Group”
    1. Click Settings on the bottom left corner of the page
    2. Select Permission Groups from the Settings menu
    3. Select the desired group or click “Create Group”
    4. Drill into your permission group and select click on the “People’s Data” tab
    5. Click “Access Rights” and “Edit”
    6. Ensure that all employee lifecycle statuses are enabled (Hired, Employed, Terminated, Leave, etc)
